Public or Catholic?
I am looking for some feedback of other parents experiences with the school system in Waterloo region. My son, who is in JK attends a school in the Catholic system, but I am considering switching him to the Public board as I hear they have more resources and are better trained in ABA. I would love to hear some ideas, feedback and experiences.
Thanks;

I am having the opposite problem. The school that my son attends has done nothing for him at all apart putting him in a special ed class where the kids watch movies and play computer games all day.
I have been told that there are good schools around. It might take 3 or 4 moves to find the right fit. However, all school boards claim to be strapped for cash despite increased funding and lower enrolment. Where ever you are you will need to FIGHT for services. It is a long hard battle but the metaphor of being at war is very apt. It is pathetic that this is the way it is in a "civilized" country such as Canada.
My son Parry gained valuable skills by being in a special ed class in the public school system!All are not created equal though our experience has been positive!Our son is more independant and has become more verbal and social in his class!
