Hi everyone - 

MARKET RESEARCH SURVEY - CAPES
 
My name is Karen Calzonetti and I have over thirty years experience working with individuals who have disabilities. The special needs community in the Guelph-Wellington region knows me as someone committed to activity programs that are fun, inclusive, and creative. 
                         
I am conducting market research in the special needs community to determine our local community needs for creative activity programs for individuals of all ages with special needs. Would you please take a few minutes to respond to the questions below?Your information will be kept confidential. What is CAPES?
CAPES is a consultancy and direct delivery service specializing in the assessment, development and direct instruction of creative activity programs designed for children, youth and adults with special needs.
 
What makes CAPES Unique?
- Programs & activities are designed to fit the person, not the other way around
- Programs & activities foster individual empowerment, independence and choice
- Programs & activities are motivated by fun & creativity
- Programs & activities promote an inclusive philosophy
 
Who is the CAPES Consumer?
- Individuals of any age with any type of special need or disability
- Parents and caregivers of children with special needs
- Educators: School Board personnel, teachers and educational assistants
- Social Service Agencies looking for activity options for their clients
- Support workers, and other contract workers
- Professionals and practitioners interested in promoting active healthy lifestyles for individuals with special needs
 
Can you provide some examples of CAPES Programs and Activities?
- Shake it Up Fitness Classes (Energizing activity classes for children, youth, & adults)
- Personalized Motor Skill Cards  (Fun 'how-to' instructions developed for each learner)
- Clubs based on participant interests (i.e. Bike Riding, Hiking, Book Clubs anyone?)
- Teen Events  (Dances, board games, and other activities)
