EAFWR Summer Program
Summer Program
Individuals with special needs aged 13 and over have fun, meet friends, and try new experiences at the Extend-A-Family Summer Program during July and August. Five weeks are based at a community location where participants attend daily and enjoy weekly themes, swimming, special guests, day trips and interactive activities. An additional two weeks of "Summer Vacation" in a rural setting offers an exicting "away" experience with some eco-appreciation.
Our staff consists of highly trained and motivated university and college-aged students who are committed to providing participants with a fun- filled summer experience!
Please contact Jeff Barber at 519-741-0190 x237 or jeffb@eafwr.on.ca for more information, or visit the EAFWR webiste.
Summer Program Day Trips
Registration for Day Trips is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please note that accessible seating on the bus is very limited.
All individuals who register for Day Trips MUST have a support worker with them for the day. Extend-A-Family camp staff will be present; however, they will not be supervising individuals who come only for Day Trips.
Payment for participant and support person is due at the time of registration. Please note that SSAH Funds cannot be used to pay for trip admission. Extend-A-Family will accept cash and cheques payable to Extend-A-Family.
Participants and support staff are required to bring their own lunch, snacks and beverages.
Cancellations must be made two weeks prior to the trip to receive an 80% refund; any cancellations after that time will not be refunded.
If the weather does not allow the trip to take place, as per the Weather Network, camp staff will notify all participants by phone the day before the scheduled trip and inform the participants that the alternative trip will be taking place.
